Healthy eating gadgets

What a load of, mostly, *ollocks. Far cheaper to buy more fresh herbs than spend 50 quid on that device.

If you buy all those gadgets there wouldn't be any money left to buy food,its just a cheap advertising gimmick.

Have we really gone mad, £205.00 for a kitchen top chip pan.....Thats why the rich live longer and the poorer have all the health problems. Cant see how anyone can buy one of those on £64.00 a week.

You seem determined to stop people from eating anything other than nuts and leafs.

I play football and am fit rather than fat, but I like anyone normal! enjoy the occasional treat! I have the Tefal Actifry out of this gadget list and it is brilliant as it lets you cook potatoes that taste like chips! with literally hardly any oil.

It probably only gets used once a month, but it is a healthier way to have chips if you want that treat. So why knock it? You havent tried it or you would know that you are basically using hot air to cook the veg of your choice. It isnt a chip and fast food cooker. So it would actually encourage some of these fat people that you keep mentioning to eat healthier.

If they ditch the deep fat fryer and use this... daily if they like! it would lead to them losing weight because they probably deep fry everything at the minute, so it is a massive improvement!

You don't NEED any of these gizmos to EAT healthily. Except you'll burn calories cleaning up after them, and lifting them in and out of your cupboards.

You need to think while you shop about what to buy and what not to buy - the latter is more important. If you have a fridge full of veggies and cupboard full of biscuits and crisps, it's not the veggies you'll go for if you have a snack atttack.

The George Forman grill is no better than any other way of cooking that allows the fat to run away, smoothies are not a highly recommended way to eat fruit - as it comes is better and more filling as it takes longer and the fibre is intact, juicers even more so than smoothies as a lot of the fibre is removed, and you can get a steamer to use in a standard microwave.

Save your money and buy better food instead.

Just a quick thought...how did our parents, or grand parents and all our ancestors manage to survive? Oh, yes, they ate an in-season diet; bought fresh food on an almost daily basis; bought locally produced food, locally; walked or cycled to work; grew some of their own food etc, etc...

We only have ourselves to blame for an unhealthy diet, and the supermarkets have supplied us with 'convenience food' that we don't really need.

It's not too late to change, although it could be difficult and take a fair amount of effort.

Please, shop locally for locally produced foods; eat 'in season' ie don't expect strawberries in winter; don't drive to super markets - rather buy in local independent shops etc. It can be done.

As for the gadgets, it is just a way of the manufactures getting hold of your money. YOU DON'T NEED THEM.
