Click through our gallery below for some of the most famous short celebrity marriages. Some stayed together for over a year while others barely lasted a week. Did you predict that some of these couples would split so soon?
- Katy Perry and Russell Brand: 14 months
This celeb couple called it splitsville in December 2011, citing 'irreconcilable differences.' Allegedly, Russell called it quits after Katy refused to put motherhood ahead of her career. It's not all bad news for Brand, though: since they didn't sign a pre-nup, he could be heading for a $20million divorce pay-day.

- Sinead O'Connor and Barry Herridge: 16 days
The singer's fourth marriage got off to a bad start as Sinead went on a drugs hunt the night of their wedding. Barry, a drugs counsellor, reportedly found the whole experience 'frightening.' Recent reports have suggested they are trying to reconcile.

- Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries: 72 days
The reality star and her basketball-playing hubby's romance and $15million wedding played out on the small screen but wasn't meant to last for the long-haul, prompting many to think the whole relationship was a boost-the-ratings scam. The couple's demise has also been captured on camera, in season four of Kourtney & Kim Take New York.

- Cher and Greg Allman: Nine days
Less than a week after her divorce from Sonny Bono became final, Cher wed country crooner Gregg Allman in 1975. She found his heroin and alcohol problems difficult to handle and filed for divorce nine days later, telling a reporter that when she told Gregg the news, 'He was so high he didn’t even understand me.' Cher had a son with Allman and the two had an on-off relationship that ended with an official divorce in 1979.

- Peaches Geldof and Maxwell Drummey: Six months
After only a 10-day courtship, the It girl and Chester French drummer tied the knot in Vegas in 2008, but split six months later. They only formally filed for divorce in April 2011.

- Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock: 122 days
The two had an on-off romance from 2001-2003, and got hitched when they got back together in the summer of '06. But despite their rock-and-roll wedding on a yacht (Pam wore a string bikini, Kid was bare-chested), the two ended up racing each other to the courthouse to file for divorce.

- Britney Spears and Jason Alexander: 55 hours
The childhood pals got hitched on a whim in Vegas in 2004, but annulled the marriage a few days later. Spears is hoping third time's the charm: after a failed marriage to Kevin Federline, she's now engaged to ex-manager Jason Trawick.

- Elizabeth Taylor and Conrad Hilton, Jr: 205 days
An 18-year-old Liz Taylor wed hotel magnate Conrad 'Nicky' Hilton in a star-studded wedding in 1950. Taylor charged Hilton with 'extreme mental cruelty,' and cited that her husband had been 'indifferent to me and used abusive language.' She went on to marry seven more times.

- Renee Zellweger and Kenny Chesney: 225 days
The duo wed after a whirlwind four-month romance that ended with Zellweger citing 'fraud' as the reason for divorce. While rumours that Chesney was gay abounded, the country star told Oprah that the marriage failed because he 'panicked.'

- Carmen Electra and Dennis Rodman: Nine days
The flamboyant basketball player and Baywatch babe were married in 1998, but Rodman claimed he was of 'unsound mind' during the nuptials and filed for an annulment nine days later. Though they reconciled briefly, they filed for divorce six months later.

- Cris Judd and Jennifer Lopez: Four months
The superstar married the choreographer in September 2001, but the flame burnt out shortly after. Cris reportedly walked away with $15million - and became a celebrity - while Jennifer moved on to fellow actor Ben Affleck.

- Michelle Phillips and Dennis Hopper: Eight days
The Mamas and Papas singer married the actor in 1970, after they met on the set of The Last Movie. Though only married for a brief eight days, there was plenty of action: Hopper allegedly kept Phillips handcuffed so she couldn't flee. Phillips didn't mind too much; she later remembered her time with Hopper as 'the happiest eight days of my life.'

- Drew Barrymore and Tom Green: 158 days
Drew has a history of short-lived marriages - her first, to bar owner Jeremy Thomas, ended after just 19 days. Drew's marriage to Tom seemed doomed to fail as the two were faced with a testicular cancer diagnosis and Barrymore's home burned down soon after they wed in 2001.

- Nicolas Cage and Lisa Marie Presley: Three months

Elvis' daughter married Michael Jackson in 1994 and the union lasted a mere 20 months. In 2002, Lisa Marie tried again with Nicolas Cage, but soon after the nuptials admitted the wedding should never have happened. 'We shouldn't have been married in the first place. It was a big mistake,' she said.

- Sophia Bush and Chad Michael Murray: Five months
Chad and Sophia met on the set of their show, One Tree Hill, and married in 2005. - Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio: 274 days
The bombshell married the baseball player in 1954, but trouble soon started brewing in paradise for the couple - among other things, Joe was reportedly outraged with the iconic skirt-swirling scene (filmed in front of thousands of onlookers) from The Seven Year Itch. When she filed for divorce, Monroe accused her husband of 'mental cruelty.'
