Avatar star Zoe shines on 'blue' carpet
She may be one of the stars of the eagerly awaited movie Avatar, but those who watched the film would have had trouble recognising the glittering Zoe Saldana at last night's premiere.
Far from the blue computer-generated character to which she lent her facial expressions, speech and movements, Zoe was a vision of shimmering silver as she arrived in Leicester Square. The actress brought some welcome colour to the specially blue-coloured carpet, as once again many of the stars opted for flattering black.
Co-star Sigourney Weaver showed she was still stunning at 60 with an off-the-shoulder dress and matching wrap, while Michelle Rodriguez revealed a softer side in a chiffon outfit and red belt.![]()
Where the celebs did go for colour, it wasn't always entirely successful though.
Lois Winstone arrived looking somewhat uncomfortable arriving in a sequinned green dress that resembled a Christmas tree, while Pussycat Doll Kimberley Wyatt's burgundy satin number showed off her enviable curves nicely but the detailing was reminiscent of a 1950s sci-fi movie.
As for Liz McClarnon... she appeared dressed more for a shopping trip than the biggest movie premiere of the year, with pale skinny jeans and a white jacket.
The movie itself may have been much-hyped, but only Miss Saldana brought with her a real sense of Hollywood glamour.
