It costs £10,000 a year to join our little secret society. We find that the high fee ensures we attract the right sort of women, ladies who are serious about having fun.

We're known as the cougar club; a group of mature women who enjoy fine dining, cocktail parties, working hard, shopping and most of all sex. Preferably with men in their prime, over 18 but under 27.

The one thing most of us have in common is that we're in the midst of a second wind and men our own age just can't keep up any more.

We have hectic lives as directors of international companies, lawyers, doctors or even socialites caught up in a whirlwind of stuffy calendar events. We also enjoy the finer things in life and live comfortably which, unfortunately, men our own age find difficult to deal with.

Maybe it's generational but a lot of us have married gentlemen of a certain age only to find ourselves divorced a few years later after they have struggled with us overtaking them professionally. Younger men seem to find us awe inspiring and we've got a lot to teach them, sexually and otherwise.

We make sure there is a ratio of two men to every one woman at our clandestine, by invite-only gatherings and the guys are head hunted and vetted by various tried and trusted, long serving cubs.

These men are not escorts or gigolos but companions and sometimes even life partners to women whose appetites for sex and lust for life have grown, not dwindled, as they have aged. They are not toys for us to play with but young men in search of confidence from women who appreciate them, not girls who laugh at their lack of experience.

There are also those who respect all that we have achieved and enjoy the confidence we ooze, a self assuredness that only age affords.

The sex is of course, fantastic. Young men with a thirst for passion, free from burdens and responsibilities make for inexhaustible lovers.

But don't be fooled into thinking a cougar's life is easy...it comes at a price. £10,000 to be exact plus the possibility of a reputation ruined, a life of ridicule and being branded a cradle snatcher if one is found out.

Hence why cougar prowls are private affairs, the particulars of our soirées shared only amongst members. Until society accepts the compatibility of younger men and older women as a natural force, it's just much easier and undeniably, much sexier, to keep our affairs secret.
