Naked woman wearing Christmas tree lightsIt can be tough to find the perfect party dress and with Christmas on the way, many of us will be searching for that one-off that will turn heads.

Well search no more, ladies. Fashion company CuteCircuit has the answer with a dress that is guaranteed to light up the room. The Galaxy Dress is of the high-tech variety. Embroidered with 24,000 tiny LED bulbs, it is the largest wearable display in the world.

Created by designers Francesca Rosella and Ryan Genz from the London-based company, the garment is designed "to represent innovation in the field of fashion".

Ms Rosella told the Daily Mail: "The LED fabric moves with the lightness and fluidity of normal fabric.

"Four layers of silk chiffon are used to diffuse the light and move really beautifully as well.

"The heaviest part of the dress is not the technology but the 40-layer pleated silk crinoline that makes the skirt wide."

And don't worry about over-heating. The LED technology avoids the possibility of heat exhaustion and it's energy efficient too, using a number of tiny iPod batteries to glow in the dark.

But hold on. Those tiny batteries only last for around 30 minutes. What then, we hear you ask.

Ms Rosella explains: "The areas without LEDs are decorated with more than 4,000 swarovski crystals – from clear crystal to bright pink. So the dress looks good even when it is switched off."

Wear this for the party season and you will, at the very least, succeed in being seasonally 'lit up like a Christmas tree'.
