With all the furore over size zero models of late, you might imagine that the darling of the fashion world, Kate Moss, would avoid the issue.

Unfortunately, it seems Kate has been in the world of fashion too long and a recent interview with fashion website WWD has caused further outrage. When asked whether she had any mottos, Kate replied: "There are loads of mottos. There's 'Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels'. That's one of them. You try and remember, but it never works."

Moss's comments have been condemned by critics, who say they could encourage eating disorders amongst the many young girls and women who see Moss as a role model.

Katie Green, a former size 12 Ultimo model who launched the Say No To Size Zero campaign with Lembit Opik, told The Sun: "There are 1.1 million eating disorders in the UK alone.

"Kate Moss's comments are likely to cause many more. If you read any of the pro-anorexia websites, they go crazy for quotes like this."

In fact, the slogan has already been adopted by various sites that give tips on staying skinny.

Green added: "Millions of girls aspire to be like Kate Moss. These comments are shocking and irresponsible."

Denise Van Outen agreed, saying: "Kate Moss is talking out of her Size Zero backside.

"Having been in the industry for so long, she knows the impact her comments will have on vulnerable young women."

Later in the interview, Kate said: "It sounds really corny but I think that if you're beautiful inside it shows on the outside, for sure."

Which would seem a little on the contradictory side. What you think about Kate's motto?

It seems being skinny is a prerequisite for fame these days - but how thin is too thin? Meet the stars who seem to be shrinking before our very eyes...
