Living like an animal... the hamster hotel
Children and adults alike will no doubt have fond memories of their furry pet friends. But how many would choose to live like one?
Well, apparently there are some unusual folk who enjoy the rodent experience. The hotel in the French city of Nantes, is offering the full hamster works... for humans.
For just €99 (£88) per night, guests at the "Hamster Villa" can dine on hamster grain, sleep in hay stacks and even enjoy that old hamster favourite, the wheel.
It is the latest venture from owners Frederic Tabary and Yann Falquerho, who run a company renting out unusual venues.
The pair, both architects, designed the room in an 18th century building and have included all the familiar features of the traditional hamster cage.
Mr Falquerho, reportedly dressed as a hamster, told the Telegraph: "The hamster in the world of children is that little cuddly animal.
"Often, the adults who come here have wanted or did have hamsters when they were small."
Be that as it may, we're still wondering what kind of adventure-seeker you would need to be to fully appreciate hamster grain for dinner.
Still, the owners have included some added luxuries. Wifi and a giant TV screen mean you won't be entirely without your creature comforts.
