Caroline amd Steve CartwrightSome people are more vocal than others when it comes to getting passionate in the bedroom, but one couple from Wearside are alleged to have made a racket so bad it was described as "murder" and "unnatural", reports the BBC.

A Newcastle court heard how Mr and Mrs Cartwright's nightly sex sessions were so loud they drowned out their neighbours' televisions.

To prove the point, a 10-minute recording of their love making was played in court, which had been taken by specialist equipment installed in a neighbour's flat by Sunderland City Council.

Even the local postman and a woman, who walked past the house taking her child to school, complained.

Mrs Cartwright, 48, has lost her appeal against a conviction for breaching a noise abatement notice that banned the couple from ''shouting, screaming or vocalisation at such a level as to be a statutory nuisance''.Next door neighbour Rachel O'Connor told the court she was frequently late for work because she overslept having been awake most of the night because of the noise.

She said: "It is not very pleasant living there and it has been quite stressful. The noise sounds like they are both in considerable pain. I cannot describe the noise. I have never ever heard anything like it."

Unemployed Mrs Cartwright said she was not able to control the noise she made during sex and and instructed a sexual psychologist to give evidence on her behalf.

"After I got the Noise Abatement Notice I tried to control it," she said. "I even tried to use a pillow [over her face] to try and lessen the noise. I did not understand why people asked me to be quiet because to me it is normal. I didn't understand where they were coming from."
