Liam Gallagher performing with OasisHe might be known as the wild man of modern rock 'n' roll, but when it comes to style Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher has gone all "subtle".

In an interview with the Daily Mail, the Manchester loudmouth has been explaining the inspiration behind his new clothing label Pretty Green. And it's all quite simple for Liam. "I know what looks good on me and that is as far as it goes. No one can tell me what to wear. I do what I like."

The Pretty Green Black collection will be available from the end of October and clearly encompasses Liam's own sense of style.

Those expecting high fashion will be disappointed. As Liam explains: "No big stripes, nothing flash or loud. It's classic stuff – trench coats, parkas, desert bots, nice cashmeres.

"Nothing wild, man – just good clobber. It's more about style than fashion – because it's me and I won't take any notice of trends. I don't do fashion. In my opinion a girl has to look like a girl and lad look like a lad.

"Look at them pointed shoes. They're for girls and that. I don't like those skin-tight jeans, either. I don't mind a bit of slim, but I can't tell whether you're a chick or a bloke..."

So for the man's man, Pretty Green offers stylish but wearable clothes. Forget about high street prices though chaps... a white parka is priced at £450 while a very-Liam paisley kaftan will cost you £180.

But then again, you'll probably get more wear out of a trench coat than the latest Gaultier design.
