'Real woman' the toast of Glamour mag
With Lawson now more popular than Lohan the rise of the curvy woman is well and truly underway.
And for readers of Glamour magazine, the sight of a 'real woman' was a breath of fresh air too wonderful to pass over.
Ever since the September issue of the magazine hit newsstands, editor-in-chief Cindi Leive has been inundated with letters from readers falling over themselves to know more about the now famous 'woman on p.194'.
In fact, the image of model Lizzi Miller appeared as part of a story on 'feeling comfortable in your skin' and measured only three by three inches. But the sight of the gorgeous Lizzi wearing only underwear and revealing a very normal but stunningly beautiful figure has resulted in readers writing such glowing tributes as "the most amazing photograph I've ever seen in any women's magazine".
And for Lizzi herself, their comments have reaffirmed her belief in the natural look. She told Glamour: "When I was young I really struggled with my body and how it looked because I didn't understand why my friends were so effortlessly skinny.
"As I got older I realised that everyone's body is different and not everyone is skinny naturally – me included! I learned to love my body for how it is, every curve of it. I used to be so self-conscious in a bikini because my stomach wasn't perfectly defined.
"But everyone has different body shapes! And it's not all about the physical! If you walk on the beach in your bikini with confidence and you feel sexy, people will see you that way too."
At last, we hear you cry! So come on girls, it's time to forget the washboard stomach and the non-existent hips... real women are back and it's about time too. Enjoy the full story and Lizzi in all her glory at Glamour.
Glamour isn't the only magazine to champion natural beauty. French Elle recently decided to forgo applying makeup or using Photoshop on its cover models. Actresses Monica Bellucci, Eva Herzigova and Sophie Marceau are intentionally featured without any make-up or retouching, unlike these other stars...
