Gwyneth Paltrow has been spotted at the Paris premiere of Two Lovers wearing a sheer awful dress.

What were you thinking, Gwynnie? We can see your pants!

The sad thing is that so much of this look is terrific. Her accessories are amazing: we love the quilted bag, and the spiky ankle boots. Her jewellery is beautiful, and suits her. Her makeup is dramatic and flattering. We even love the black nails with this whole black and white theme.

Then it all falls apart with the dress.

Someone like Elizabeth Hurley would have slapped a couple of nipple flowers on her chest and gone commando and somehow made it work - but Gwynnie is just too much of a good girl for this kind of look.

It fails because we can all see (quite literally) that she's the kind of girl who always wears clean white knickers.
